Island Girl

Chinese Soapstone on Black Marble Base, 2007

I am excited about Chinese soapstone which looks more like alabaster. Years ago when the Caribbean used to be our winter holiday destination, I made a Plasticine maquette of an "island girl" which was the model for this sculpture.
