Fertility Goddess

Quebec Soapstone

The goddess culture of pre-history persisted in Egypt in the form of Isis, "the natural mother of all things", and the cat woman was a divine symbol of fertility.

She is depicted in this piece with "radiant eyes" (Swarovski Crystals) the source of "life giving moisture". Inspiration for this sculpture came from reading and much discussion of pre-historic goddess culture with friends in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
