The Soprano

Carrara Marble

This has been one of my most challenging and satisfying sculptures. The marble came from Carrara, Tuscany, from the same site as Michelangelo's marbles. It was a thrilling experience to work the same material as the greatest sculptor the world has known!

This stylized, semi-abstract piece depicts a diva belting out an aria.

Sculpture: 6"w x 3.5"h x 23"h
Base: White marble, rotating 12" dia.
